It includes personal introspection, optimistic fatalism, perplexing philosophical perspectives, and ostentatious observations. I have enjoyed writing in a lyrical format since I first read Edgar Allan Poe as a child. As the years passed and I became more and more disenfranchised with American society and the world in general, I found it easier to express myself in poetic fashion. Some of my biggest, and perhaps most obvious, influences have been Bob Dylan, Jim Morrison, John Lennon, Leonard Cohen, Robert Hunter, and Lewis Carroll. This is the kind of poetry that anyone can enjoy reading, especially people who donat like poetry. Some of these poems will haunt you, some will confuse you, but theyare all sure to entertain you. You may notice that each poem has its own rhythm, or cadence. This occurs deliberately as the poem is being written- therefore, it is conceivable that many of these writings could be put to music (which I gladly invite anyone to do). I hope you find these poems as much fun to read as they were to write.
